Services for Coy Suggs, who died suddenly at his home in Smithville on Oct. 28, 1956, were held Oct. 30 at the Smithville Baptist Church with burial in the Smithville Cemetery. He was 46. Nabors Funeral Home had charge. A native of Itawamba County, he moved to Smithville about 17 years previous. He was a son of the late John Suggs of Itawamba County.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Minnie Lee Suggs; two daughters, Miss Ouida Faye Suggs, assistant county agent at Waynesboro, Miss., and Miss Lane Suggs of Smithville; two sons, J. W. and Edward, both of Smithville; his mother, Mrs. Lou Suggs of Smithville; four brothers, Karie Suggs of Illinois, Audie Suggs of South Caroline, Alvis Suggs of Gattman, and Escar Suggs of Belmont; four sisters, Mrs. Jerry Herren of Amory, Mrs. George Stanford of Amory, Mrs. Frank Murphy of Smithville and Mrs. Burton Pierce of Fulton.
