Tremont – Evelyn Gladys Jones Mason, 88, died July 24, 2008, in Ocala, Fla. She was born April 6, 1919, to Milton Andrew Thomas “Tom” Jones and Mattie Eleanor Roberts Jones. She was a private duty nurse for many years. She enjoyed taking care of her dog.
Following cremation, burial was in Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church Cemetery near Tremont. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton was in charge.
Survivors included one daughter, Carolyn Wheeler Crum (Robert) of Ocala, Fla.; one sister, Tommie Lou Loden of Fulton; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Walter Ovid Jones, Columbus Cecil “Dock” Jones, John Chesser Jones and an infant brother, Earl Jones; and four sisters, Laura Mahaleth “Haley” Barrett, Flora Creekmore Carnes, Flossie Jane Rogers and Willie Lee McMillen.
