Services for James Hosey Witt, retired farmer of the Willis Heights area near Tupelo, were held May 10, 1948 at the Hopewell Church near Dorsey with burial in the Keys Cemetery. Spain Funeral Home was in charge. Mr. Witt, who was 55, died May 9, 1948 at Community Hospital.
Survivors included his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Ethel May Repult of Plantersville, Mrs. Dessie Fay Mooreland, Miss Trueviette Witt, and Miss Yvonne Witt, all of Tupelo; six sons, C. J., L. J., and R. H. Witt of Birmingham, Ala., C. R., H. T., and G. F. Witt of Tupelo.
