Archie..that's the million dollar question. We have no idea where in GA our Joseph Davis (1774-1860 and the father of James H Davis) lived before moving to the area of Henry CO AL before 1820.

I have thought he was one of the five Joseph Davises who played the land lottery of 1805 but I don't know what counties were won by those men, if any. We don't have a clue. Right now, I have a Davis cousin who is also researching this with me.

May I ask, how do you know the county in GA your Davises came from if you don't know who Abner's parents are? Or is this where Theodore Davis came from?

If you have email, I can send you the full list of Joseph and Mary's children, it has more on it that ties them in with James H Davis.

My email is open and I'm at Genejeanne@aol.com
