Lillian,

Is the Lt. William R. Chambliss who escaped the Fort Mims massacre in 1813 a stepson of Peter Chambliss? He died about 10 years later in Port Gibson, Claiborne Co. MS. If you have any information on him, I would appreciate your sharing since I am working with a professor establishing the participants at Fort Mims. I have a small file I will share with you.
