I'm a descendant of Abraham Clawson who appears in the early settlers census and up through the 1820 census of Jefferson County. I'm descended through his daughter Catherine/Catharine who married James S. Love by whom she had two daughters: Catherine and Mary Ann and one son who was born a few months after his father's death in 1829 in a woodcutting accident.
Catherine remarried in 1833 to Abraham Jones. Her daughters by her first marriage married two Ford brothers, John Faust Ford and William Gardiner Ford in Sumter County AL. I have considerable genealogy on the descendants of the two girls.
Is there anyone out there who is researching the Clawson line from Mississippi? If so, please contact me.
