Dear Mr. Windham: Thank you for the information. I had talked with Katie McNeill on a couple of occasions by phone. She met a lady from Maryland who had a lot of McCarty research information and passed it along to me. Katie and my uncle, Edward McCarty, were good friends over the years. My brother sent to me in TX a copy of the Jasper Co., MS, Cemetery Book which had a picture of Katie on an inside leaf. I knew that she had deceased, and hated that I did not make it a point to see her on one of my trips to Laurel, which were not frequent in those days. Hope the Hurricane did not do you severe harm! My dau. and I were visiting 3 sisters and a bro. in Laurel when the hurricane came through. Blew over a lot of shrubs and trees, and got some shingles from roofs, but no serious damage to them. My brother, who lives in another section of Laurel (sisters live in Calhoun) got 1 or 2 large trees through his roof, but did not hurt them as they were in another part of the house. Ezra McLaurin Alexander (Mac). PS: My grandmother, Annie Kathryn "Kate" McLaurin married my grandfather, Hamilton Davis McCarty. Davis McCarty was first a boarder in their home near Erata, MS, and eventually, he and Annie Kate married. Two sets of twins, one of them was Keppel McCarty, who was my mother. Both Hamilton Davis and Annie Kate died young. Notify Administrator about this message?
