Joel Rogers of Pascagoula and Fulton died at the Coahoma County Hospital in Clarksdale May 16, 1971 after an illness of two months. Mr. Rogers was 71 years of age. Services were held at the Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Laurel. Burial was in the family plot at Shady Grove Cemetery in Laurel. He was a retired employee of City Lumber Company of Pascagoula.
Survivors included his wife, Mrs. Verna Rogers of Fulton; three daughters, Mrs. L. W. Rogers of Laurel, Mrs. Arthur Kitchens of Laurel, Mrs. Donald Ellis of Clarksdale; two sons, Joel H. Rogers and Robin Rogers of Fulton; one sister, Mrs. Inez Hamilton of Laurel; and eight grandchildren.
