I beleive this to be Lewis Smith and Cathrina Youngblood who were married in Clarke Co Al on Sep 25, 1817 and can be found in Jones Co Ms in 1830. They are on the Jones Co Ms census from 1830 through 1850 and Cathrine is on the 1870, age 67, living with a daughter and son-in-law. Neither are on any 1860 I can access. There is a Lewis Smith on the 1820 Appling Co Ga Census and the ages are right for this couple and their first daughter. I beleive Cathrine's parents were in the Clarke Co area of Al at the time of the marriage and that Lewis and Cathrine went back to Appling Co after their marriage. I have not found the parents of either. There are several Smiths on the 1820 Appling Co Ga Census who are in the right age group to be family to Lewis. Lewis shows born in Ga about 1796 and Cathrine shows Ga in 1803 on the 1850 Jones Co Ms census. I have suspicions that their first daughter, who was born in Appling Co, married a William Walters (b about 1821 in Jones Co Ms) and is named Elizabeth (b 1817). They are are found on the 1840, 1850 and 1860 census in Jones Co Ms, 1870 in Pike Co Ms and 1880 in Rapides La. William Walters/Elizabeth is my line. Any information will be appreciated. rgoss Notify Administrator about this message?
