Seeking any info on the descendants of John C. Barksdale b/1845/MS and living in Kemper Co., MS in 1896 married to Mary Unknown b/1849/AL before 1870 in MS----
This family is listed on the 1880 Kemper Co., MS census with children: James Barksdale, Green Barksdale and William Barksdale----I find other records for school children up to 1896 which includes Hulda, Ed and John Barksdale--
John C. Barksdale was the only known child of Nathaniel G. Barksdale and Hulda Cannon Barksdale--they are both buried in the Cannon Cemetery in Scooba, MS---
John C. Barksdale fought for the CSA and is shown as being a member of the 35th MS Regiment, Co. B ----
