Seeking data on the Indian Village located at the now extinct towm of Alamatcha. What this village in operation in l841? I am researching the line of half-Choctaw Jeremiah Carney who in l841 purchased property in Madison Co. MS and listed his residence at that time "in Marion Co."...inasmuch as Alamatcha was near old Marion Co., perhaps this could be the location of his residence. Are there land records available for this village? Any suggestions on how I might access data on the occupants of this Indian Village will be appreciated.
