There is a listing in the 1850 Census of Lauderdale County for H. W. Roberts, he is 28 years old born in South Carolina and list his occupation as Merchant. Also in the same household are Thomas Roberts, 22 years old and John Roberts, 21. Both list their birthplace as South Carolina and their occupation as Clerking.
