On September 13, 2003 there will be a reunion of all dscendants of Eli and Mary Polly Flanagan Smith . This couple were residents of this area of MS from about 1812 until their deaths in 1871 and 1872. They are buried in a private cemetery near Sontag in what was evidently on their old home place. There are many surnames involved in the descendants of this couple and we want to get together as many of them as possible The reunions begins at 10:00 A.M. at the Sontag Community Center-Smith Ferry Road-Sontag, MS. Those attending are asked to bring a covered dish for lunch. Paper products, drinks etc will be provided. We will have a morning session of a time of devotion, time of remebering those who have passed away in the past year, a sharing time to share any new information and view pictures etc brought by those attending ,a business session and an auction (of any items that our attendees bring). We will then have our lunch ( around 1:00 P.M.) and spend time eating together and visiting. Visiting and sharing will continue as long as we have people interested in staying in theafternoon and enjoying one another's company. We are inviting anyone who has any interest in as well as connections with this family.Anyone working on the Smith families in this region(Lincoln, Copiah, Lawrence) are also invited. I am very interested in possible siblings of Eli. I believe him to be a son of Everett Smith(1751 N. C.-1822 Lawrence co, MS)and Eliza Smith Furr and sibling of the following:Isaac bn about1773 ,William One Hand bn 1775, Pleasant bn about 1777,Levy about1779,and Everette bn about 1798 I, have not proven this theory but would love to communicate and visit with persons studying these individuals.
