On September 10, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at Sontag Community Center in Sontag, (Lawrence Co.) Mississippi there will be
a reunion of descendants of Eli & Mary(Polly)Flanagan Smith who resided in Lawrence Co. MS from about 1812 of 1872. Eli, Mary and their youngest daughter Catherine are buried on a farm in the area in marked graves.
The children of Eli and Mary Smith and their spouses were
Averette (Everette) bn about 1809 married to Mary Anna Cagle;Martha Smith bn 1811 married Henry Hall; Mary Smith bn 1814 married Jepthah Douglass,Priscilla Smith bn 1816
married Joel Douglass, Jane Smith bn 1817 who married John Grice; Levy(Levi)Smith bn 1819 married Jane Grice and then
Nancy Hargroves White;Annie Smith bn 1822 married Ransom
Douglass;Catherine Smith who was married for a short time to William Ham.
There are many many descendants of these people scattered all over the United States. We are inviting any descendants or anyone interested in the history of this family to meet with us September 10.
