I posted this as an answer to a query on another forum. Perhaps it will help someone here.
I haven't done any work on the McClures. I just have 4 names in my data base. They have married cousins and they catch my eye because I know that families sometimes traveled together. Nancy McClure (B abt 1810, d abt 1843 Clarke Co., Alabama m 22 Mar 1820
John Spinks (b 1795), the first cousin of "my" Enoch Spinks (b 1806)
The other three McClures come from another line. Walter Evan McClure 1923 , Chattanooga, TN to abt 1959, Chattanooga, TN m 1946 Mildred Ellen Roland b Nov 28, 1924 Clifton, Scott Co., MS d Oct 5, 1989 Carthage, Leake Co., MS. They had 2 sons Warren Evan McClure Mar 12, 1949-1997 and Charles Edward McClure Apr 5, 1951 - May 30 1991 Mildred's second husband was Haynes Mooney (1918-1998 b&d in Leake Co., MS) with whom she had twin boys in 1954 Kenny Michael and Carl Maxwell.
Caroline Mitchell (1810-1878) m 15 Jan 1829 Winsor Pearse Spinks(1797-1865) a brother of Enoch. Caroline's father H. H Mitchell (abt 1770-1833) and his children have been discussed in the Mitchell forum.
The other 2 Mitchells I have:
Experience Mitchell (1609-1989 Bridgewater,) M 1638 Plymouth colony, Mass Jane Cook (1615-1666 Bridgewater)
Fred Mitchell b 1887 m Mattie Lyle 9 Apr 1887 dau of John Thomas Lyle and Sallie Morton. They lived in Lauderdale Co., MS
