I have been searching unsuccessfully for a couple of months now, looking for Ella Nora Bridges b 11 July 1875 d.20 feb. 1948 She started out in ,Leake, MS and was in Texas by the time she died. I have the info from the 1880 Franklin, Tn census, showing her and her siblings living with Robert and Nancy Smith (G-Parents). I cannot find her parents or any mention of them. The TX census says father was born in GA and Mother in TN. She married Thomas Ed(Edward) Byrd in 1894 White Rock,, Robertson, TX.
Thomas Ed(Edward) Byrd b.Oct 1873 ,Leake, MS; a check of the census shows TN: Father in Al. and Mother TN. I cannot find his parents anywhere, I have his marriage date of 1894, which I know to be about 98% true. They lived with Robert and Nancy Smith in the 1900 census. In 1895 their first child, Fred, was born, then in 1900, they had TS. In 1903 Thomas Ed(Edward) Byrd died in a huning accident, it's thought in Arkansas and yet, he was buried in TX. (whereabouts unk at this time).
Ella remarried to John Wesley Egusta Wiley in 1904. They went on to have a couple more children. I have ried to get death records for Thomas, but have been unable to because I'm not an immediate family member. Can anyone help me out with the parents names of Ella and Thomas? Ella has two brothers; Albert/Elbert and George. By 1900, the boy are using their fathers surname...Bridges, before that all three kids were using their g-parents name Smith. In the Franklin, TN census, I've found the Smith family for about 20-30 years... Then suddenly they are in TX, theres no mention of Elizabeth Smith or Fanny or Frannie Smith both daughters of Robert and Nancy. Also there was a Mary Smith in the 1870 census, she's no longer mentioned.
