Primis Ambrose died May 8, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Jan. 29, 1938, to Larmia Ambrose Sr. and Annie Bell Finnie Ambrose. He was a lifelong member of New Prospect Baptist Church. He was an employee of MAFES for 36 years and, after retiring, continued to work part-time until his death.
Services were at Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Verona. Burial was in New Prospect Cemetery. N.L. Jones & Son Funeral Directors of Tupelo was in charge.
Survivors included his wife of 45 years, Tarnell Ambrose; three children, Shirley Gilmore (Sonny) of Verona, Betty Joyce Edwards (Billy) of Nettleton and Michael Taylor of Verona; one brother, Larmia Ambrose (Inez) of Verona; three sisters, Lillie Mae Morris, Estella Edwards and Annie Mae Ambrose, all of Verona; one aunt, Bertha Finnie of Detroit, Mich.; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Fannie White and Ollie Bell Griffen; one brother, Webster Lee Ambrose; and two nephews, Freddie Griffen and James Russell Morris.
