James Lee Buse, 83, died May 20, 2008, at the Countrywood Plantation in Mantachie. He was born March 6, 1925, in Lee County to Allen and Ada Buse. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during World War II. He worked for the Carnation Milk Plant and Blackman Machine Works, and retired from Arvin Industries. He was a licensed pilot and owned his own plane. He enjoyed boating in his earlier years and loved gardening and working in his shop. He was a Methodist.
Services were at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors included one brother, J.W. Buse and Peggy of Tupelo; four nephews, Ken Pearson and Yvonne of Eggville, Mitch Buse and Kera of Cordova, Tenn., Jay Buse and fiancˇe Traci of Tupelo, and Jim Harris and Diane of Morepark, Calif.; five great-nieces, three great-nephews; his special friend, Helen Thomas of Mooreville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister and her husband, Joyce and Hoyle Pearson; and a nephew, Rickey Pearson.
