Don "Pingo" Dakin, 63, died May 9, 2008, at his residence at Lake Piomingo. A native of Gary, Ind., he was born July 2, 1944, to Albert and Estelle Rodzynski Dakin. He was a 1966 graduate of Western New Mexico University with a degree in economics. He worked at Youngstown Steel Industry in Indiana, U.S. Reduction in Alabama, Purolator in North Carolina, Stanley Tools in Vermont, Allied Signal and Honeywell in Arizona, and Barclay and Stratford in Mississippi. He was an avid fisherman and loved playing dominos.
A private committal service will be held at a later date. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one son, Dwayne Dakin (Kate) of Tempe, Ariz.; one daughter, U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Suellen Hendrix (Chris) of Brook City Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas; five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
