Jewel Grisham Gregory died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at the Yalobusha County Hospital. She was born Aug. 3, 1911, in Lee County to James Henry and Ada Bell Hignite Grisham. She was married to Oughterson Jackson "Jake" Gregory, who died in 2000. She and her husband owned and operated Gregory’s Department Store on Main Street in Water Valley for more than 50 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Water Valley and the TEL Sunday School Class.
Services were at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial was at the Priceville Cemetery in Tupelo.
Survivors included her sister-in-law, Opal Morgan (Clyde) of Tupelo; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.
