Joan Victoria Faust, 77, died June 9, 2008, at her daughter’s residence. A native of Ipswich, England, she was born May 24, 1931, to Herbert and Edith Plowman. She worked many years in the bakery at Page’s, Jitney Jungle Foods, and Sack and Save, where she retired in 1997. She met her husband, Jack Faust, while he was stationed in English during the Korean conflict. After the birth of their first child, they came to Quitman County, where they lived until they moved to Tupelo in 1972. She moved to Mooreville in 2001. She enjoyed working in her yard, jigsaw puzzles, sewing, spending time with her family, and especially her little dog, Sammie. She will be remembered for her love of people and her vivacious personality. She was a member of Laodicea Primitive Baptist Church.
Services were at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with burial in Shiloh Cemetery in Thaxton.
Survivors included two daughters, Judy Stark (John) of Guntown and Donna Evans (Bruce) of Booneville; three sons, Michael Faust of Morgan City, David Faust (Jennifer) of Mooreville and Robert Faust (Becky) of Palmetto; three sisters, Shelia Harris of Anchorage, Alaska, and Joyce Pudwell and Pat Barter, both of Ipswich, England; one brother, Bert Plowman of Ipswich, England; 13 grandchildren, Clint, Christopher, Jacqueline, David Anthony, Heather, Brandy, Brad, Greg, Jennifer, Robin, Georgeanne, Corey and Jake; eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack Faust, on April 13, 1996; and her daughter, Jacqueline Faust, on March 13, 1965.
