Brice Lee Foushee Jr., 81, died June 12, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born March 5, 1927, in Auvergene, Ark., to Brice L. Foushee Sr. and Sybil Gillenwaters Foushee. The family moved to Tupelo, Ark., where he played football for Newport High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army during World War II and spent his basic training at Fort Lewis, Wash., and San Francisco, where he served in the Medical Corps. After his honorable discharge, he entered X-Ray School in Chicago. Upon graduation he took a job at the Missouri Pacific Railroad Hospital in St. Louis. He married Arlene Miller on Nov. 8, 1957. They moved to Tupelo, where he worked with Dr. A. Jack Stacy. He continued to work for Radiology Associates P.A. until his retirement 37 years later. He was a master radiological technologist who loved and respected his patients. He was a charter member of St. Luke United Methodist Church, where he was active in all activities until his death. He was the first Scoutmaster for the first Boy Scout Troop at St. Luke. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and Shriner affiliated with the Tupelo Lodge No. 318 and the Lee County Shrine Club. He was active in the Shrine transportation organization which provides rides for crippled children and their families to the Shrine Hospital in Shreveport, La. He was a member of the Nettleton Hunting and Fishing Club, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a patriotic American who loved his country, his family and his fellow man.

Services with military honors were at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland-Harris Funeral Directors with burial with Masonic honors at Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors included his wife, Arlene, of Tupelo; two daughters, Christy Easterling (Freddy) of Tupelo and Carol L. Bryant (Kenny) of Thaxton; one son, David Brice Foushee (Jody) of Seminole, Fla.; eight grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Christine.
