Nellie Elliott Johnson, 77, died June 14, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Lee County on April 13, 1931, to Albert Lonzo and Mellie Ester Hall. She was a seamstress for over 40 years with Indian Creek Apparel. She was as member of Union Chapel Baptist Church since 1948 and was the Adult Sunday School Class Treasurer. She enjoyed having family and friends visit and being able to cook for them. She loved the outdoors and gardening.
Services were at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors included two daughters, Deborah Payne of Shannon and Donna Elliott of Brewer; one sister, Emmer Long of Troy; two grandchildren; one granddaughter-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, John Elliott and Andrew Johnson; four brothers, Monroe Hall, Woodrow Hall, Lando Hall and Albert Hall; three sisters, Mattie Hall, Susie Hester and an infant sister; one grandson, Nathan Elliott Payne.
