Blanche Easterling, 83, died June 29, 2008, at her residence. A Lee County Native, she was born on Sept. 29, 1924, to A.M. and Mamie Barkley Carson. She owned Easterling Grocery and also retired from Reed’s Manufacturing. She was a member of Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church where she was a member for 65 years. She loved her home, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was watching American Idol and Days of Our Lives. She lived life to the fullest. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. Her love for her God gave her strength, compassion and courage.
Services were at Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church with burial in McNeil Cemetery. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
Survivors included three daughters, Debbue Berryman (Twitty) of Guntown, Peggy Herring (Jack) and Brenda Carter (Tommy), both of Saltillo; one son, Raymond Earl Easterling (June) of Saltillo; nine grandchildren, Renee Easterling, John Robbins (Mandy), Michael Morgan (Allison), Ken Herring (Michele), Jason Herring (Angie), Ronnie Berryman (Kristy), Drew Carter, Susan Duffie and David Robins; eight great-grandchildren; two nephews, Ronnie Easterling (Karen) and Lesley Easterling (Brenda); two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Coker and Sarah Easterling; one brother-in-law, Alvis Coker; a host of great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 34 years, Eugene H. Easterling; four sisters and two brothers.
