Obituary - Viola J. Parsons was born 10 Apr 1856. Joined the Baptist Church in '77 or '78, was married to Rev. L. D. Scarborough, Dec 29 1880, and died 1 Mar 1901.

Sister Scarborough was an unassuming, matter of fact Christian. Her real life meant more than words usually imply. Her neighbors, relatives and church said of her, "She was a good woman." Her husband said "She was a good wife," and the children said, "

What will we do without Mama?" She said to the writer a few days before her death she felt like the Lord was with her, and she was resigned to His will. One child preceded her to the spirit world. To the bereaved husband, the seven children, the aged mother, the brothers, sisters, host of relatives and friends, we extend our sympathies and pray the Comforter will bless. After the funeral services by R. J. BOONE, aided by Elder Z. LOFTIN, her body was buried in the Bethel cemetery to await the Resurrection. R. J. Boone
