I'm hoping someone can help me chip my way through my wife's brickwall in her Phillips line-her gggrandfather, Isaac L. Philips/Phillips. Isaac Philips/Phillips, married a Louise Eastes/Easter 21 May 1819 in Claiborne County, MS. There was an Alfred Phillips who married a Francy or Fanny Eastes/Easter 23 Feb 1819 in Claiborne Co, MS. Alfred Philips and Isaac Philips may be two brothers who married two sisters. Unknown what happened to Alfred Philips. Isaac L. Phillips, is listed in the 1850 Pike Co., MS (below) ****************************************************************************************************************************** NAME AGE SEX- ---OCCUP.-----BORN Philips, Isaac,---------55 ------ M-------- Farmer --- Kentucky Philips, Tairsy,--------45--------F-------------------------North Carolina Philips, Ramon R.,- 22--------M-------Farmhand---Mississippi Philips, John, ---------20--------M ------Farmhand---Mississippi Philips, Sarah,------ -16 --------F-------------------------Mississippi Philips, Martha,----- -14--------F ------------------------Mississippi Philips, William, -------7--------M ------------------------Mississippi Philips, Andrew, -------3--------M ------------------------Mississippi Philips, Isaac L.,------ 6/12----M ------------------------Mississippi ****************************************************************************** My wife's great grandfather was the first born son, Raymond Robert Phillips-spelled Ramon R. in the census. I can account for only three of Raymond R. Phillips' siblings, John Phillips (never married), William Phillips(never married) and the last son in the 1850 census, Isaac L. Phillips, married in Mississippi and died in Washington Parish, La. I haven't been able to track down the rest Raymond R. Phillips' brothers and sisters, or where in Kentucky Isaac Philips was born. My wife's ggrandfather, Raymond R. Phillips, married a Mary Estess in 1860 in Pike Co, MS. and had four children: 1) Milton Phillips, married Margaret Forest Reid (my wife's paternal grandparents) (both are buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookhaven, MS 2) Phoeba/Phoebe Phillips (listed in the 1870 & 1880 Lincoln Co, MS.censuses.Unknown if she married or died young. Her name was spelled Theiba by the transcriber of the 1880 census) 3) John M. Phillips, married a Sophie Wooley, in 1898. 4) Gaines Bedford Phillips-never married If anyone has any info on, or is related to, any of the family listed in the census above, please get in touch. I'd like to help my wife track her gggrandfather, Isaac L. Philips/Phillips back to family in Kentucky and her gggrandmother, Louisa Eastes/Easter, back to North Carolina Thanks for taking the time to look at this long query.
