i am hoping that someone out there with acess to a lowndes county, mississippi book of events, might be willing to do a lookup for me. my great great grandad was george t. win(g)field, born c.a 1829, supposedly va. he married one martha j. davis in lowndes, miss., 18 august 1855. can anyone tell me if this record of marriage gives place of birth of martha j. davis, and also is there any hint of her parentage? other winfield researchers have strongly suggested her father was john davis. also, is there any evidence as to whom george's folks were? (might be zacheus k.) i cannot find anything on these people, and i've been hunting for years. thanks in advance,, tim wilks@attbi.com
