My great grandmother, Mary Francis Curry Noe stated in the Civil War pension application that she was born in Lowndes County Alabama in 1843. I have checked with genealogists in that county and they were unable to find any record of her. One of her sons-in-law stated that she was an orphan born in Corinth, Mississippi. I think that Corinth is in Lowndes County Mississippi so I am turning to this area to continue my search.
She married Thomas R. Noe from Lamar County Alabama which is just across the state line from Lowndes County Mississippi on February 15, 1864. They moved to Oklahoma around 1890. If anyone knows of a Curry family that lived in the Corinth area I would appreciate any information I can find. It has been extremely difficult to find any information on her.
