THOMAS GIDDINGS

I need info on Thomas Giddings who died from Yellow Fever in Canton, Madison County, MS. in Oct. 1858. Thomas had not been in Canton, MS. very long, coming there from Ga.,with N&O Jackson and Northern Railroad Co., making the runs to New Orleans. Thomas had other relatives working for Railroad Co. in Ga.
He left a wife Martha and three known children.
One was a daughter Lura/Lena Giddings, which died from burns, one was a son William, who was sent back to Ga. to be raised and a son Thomas S.,whom grew up and married in Ms.and married Ada Mayes from Greene Co. AL. They lived in Newton County several years, where my father and two older sisters where born, before coming to Texas.
Thomas Giddings' wife Martha Giddings married William Taylor in Canton, Madison, County, MS. not too long after Thomas died. She and Taylor raised a large family in MS. Taylor was a jailor and saddler.

Thomas Giddings was also known as James Thomas Giddens. The Giddens/Giddings name was spelt several various ways in different records. But it is a fact, James Thomas Giddens and Thomas Giddings were the one and same indivual. Records verify such.
