Looking for additional information on this line. Alexander Luckett, and his wife, Charity Luckett, were most likely brought to Mississippi as slaves. This probably occurred between 1842 and 1847, when most of the early White Lucketts came to Mississippi from the St. Maryffs congregation in Locust Grove, Georgia.
The 1870 Canton, MS census lists Alexander Luckett at 60 years old (b. ca. 1810), and doing Farm Labor. Charityfs age is listed at 45 (b. ca. 1825). Both are shown as being born in Georgia. There are 7 children in the household; Emily (16 yrs. old), Adaline (12), Luccisse (Louisa?) (11), Boiley (7), Ann (5), and Frank (4). All the children were born in MS. Alexander has apparently died by 1880. The Canton, MS census of 1880 shows Charity as the head of the household. Also living in the household with Charity in 1880 are her daughter Anna (Adeline?) (25 yrs. old), son Bollie/Boiley (16), son Frank (13), granddaughter Charity (6), and grandson George (3).
¡| There is a record of a Charity Luckett marrying a George Semmes on 12-27-1883. No other information on this.
¡| I believe that Emily Luckett may have married Richard Luckett ca. 1874. An Emily Luckett appears on the 1880 Canton census at 29 years old, and with children; Callie (6), Jeriah C. (4), and Rosa P. (2).
¡| I believe that the Adaline Luckett listed on the 1870 census is gAnnah Luckett on the 1880 census, who is living with her mother, Charity Luckett, and has 2 children, Charity (6) and George (3).
¡| I believe that Louisa Luckett may have married Patrick Semmes ca. 1874. A Patrick and Louisa Semmes appear on the 1880 Canton census. Patrick (23) is a ggFarmerhh, Louisa (20) is doing ggDay Laborhh. Also in this household are Patrickffs mother, Louisa Semmes (49), and his brother, Louis Semmes (19).
¡| I believe that the 5 year old Ann Luckett on the 1870 census may have married Moses Semmes(Sims) ca. 1879. Moses (21) and Anna (17) Semmes appear on the 1880 Canton census. They are both listed as doing ggFarm Laborhh. They have a 5 month old daughter, Antonette.
¡| Bolie (Boiley/Bollie) Luckett (b. ca 1860-64) appears on the 1900 Canton census as a gSchool Janitor.h In December, 1884, Bolie married Martha (Mary) Nash (b. 5-1872 in MS). On the 1900 census, Mary is listed as a ggCookhh. Bolie and Mary have only 1 child living, Rosa Luckett (b. 5-1882). Rosafs daughter, Lida (b. 12-1899), is also living in this household on Centre St.
¡| Frank Luckett Sr. (b. ca. 1866-67, d. ca 1916) married Rosa MOORE (b. 1-1872). Rosa Moore is the daughter of Jesse (b ca. 1845-46 in SC) and Laura Blackmon Moore (b. ca. 1850-51 in MS).
