Reaner Briggs Dortch, 84, died April 7, 2007 at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab in Holly Springs. She was born Sept. 17, 1922, to the late James Hall Briggs Sr. and May Lillie Cox Briggs in Marshall County. She was an active member of Concord M.B. Church at Slayden and a member of Greenwood Lodge No. 58A, Order of the Eastern Star. She was a retired nutritionist aide for the Marshall County Extension Service.
Services were at Concord M.B. Church with burial in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum & Son Funeral Home of Holly Springs was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors includes three daughters, Alma Dortch, Florida Jones and Flora Dortch, all of Lamar; four sons, David Dortch and Walter Henry Dortch of Memphis, and Cornell Dortch and Earnest Dortch of Lamar; three sisters, Saloan Anderson and Katherine Wallace of Memphis, and Annie Cunningham of Lamar; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Carter Dortch.
