Lizzie Mae Hiram Jones, 82, died April 27, 2007, at her home in Holly Springs. She was born Sept. 23, 1924, in Marshall County to the late Matthew Hiram and Olivia Hughes Hiram. She was a member of Isom Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs, where she was a stewardess and choir member. She was a retired factory worker for Oster Sunbeam in Holly Springs.
Services were May 5 at Isom Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs with burial in the church cemetery. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four daughters, Nellie Pointer and Mattie Smith, both of Holly Springs, Ginnie Mae Dennis of St. Paul, Minn., and Idirla Coleman of Memphis; one son, Fonzie Lee Jones of Omaha, Neb.; 17 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, I.C. Clifton "Jack" Jones, and a son, Herbert Dowdy.
