This family is black or mulatto.

1910 with Leona Purnell in Carroll County Ms
1920 with Alberta (my immediate family) in Carroll County Ms
1930 with Alberta in Montgomery County Ms

James was married 5 times to
Lizzie Dabney(Carroll County)married April 16, 1897
Alice Fullilove (Carroll County)January 12, 1901
Leona Purnell (Carroll County)January 26, 1906
Alberta Richards (Carroll County)June 19, 1919
Minnie Triplett listed as wife on his draft records (Plattsburg Address)donont know marriage date, it also said his employer was Clina Pope there.

I can not find James in the 1880 or 1900 census as well nor Minnie

I was told that he was the brother of Sam Triplett 1895 died 1999 in Louisville I could not find Jim listed anywhere Sam was. Sam father was Aron Triplett who I found was married twice. To Violet and to Hannan.

In the 1880 census I found an Edmond Barnes and a mulatto male Jas which stands for James. I'm thinking this is his grandfather since names Edmond were close, and my great aunt told me his(james) was mixed. And that was the only mulatto male by that namein 1880. I also found Violet who has a Lafeyette whom my uncle could have gotten his name from since we have a Lafeyette in our immediate family. I could not find Violet in the 1900 but found her in 1870 and 1880 nor have I found her death records.

Am I confussing you or am I confussing myself?
