Can anyone please tell me something about the Northeast Mississippi Company of Mississippi Rangers. I know they formed in 1849 mostly made up of Mexican War vets who banded together to go to California and the gold mines. My ancestor Richard Asbury Rison sold his property in Monroe county and headed to California with this group but I cannot find out anything more about the history or results of this group. Anything please.
