Bartletts of DC to TX, MS

In the 1860C of Helena, Karnes County, TX (#1237) are listed Ann L. Bartlett, 60; a second female, H(?). D. Caldwell, 35; and a Jno. L. Bartlett, 28, who, I'm speculating, may have been the son of (widowed?) Ann. I believe this John was killed in the Civil War, having served in a Mississippi regiment. All three give Dist. of Columbia as place of birth. (Also in the home are females E.C. Smith, 18, and Mary C. Smith, 11, both b. IL.)

In the 1870C of Raymond, Hinds County, MS, Ann (now 74) shows up in the household (#39) of James, 28, b. NY, and Mary C. Smith, 28, b. IL, possibly kin/in-laws.

Can anyone account for the husband of Ann and the circumstances of her move to Texas, or other information on this Bartlett family?
