Dorothy Marie “Dot” Kirk, 56, died June 7, 2008, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born June 28, 1951, in Nettleton. She was a 1969 graduate of Nettleton High School and an active member of Palestine United Methodist Church in Nettleton. She was a former employee of Red Kap and a retired employee of the North Mississippi Medical Center. She enjoyed watching Paula Dean on the Food Network, collecting recipes and traveling.
Services were at Palestine United Methodist Church with burial in Mullen Cemetery in Nettleton. Jackson Mortuary in Amory was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, James Kirk of Shannon; one daughter, Katina (Layforn) Profice; one son, Marcus Kirk; one stepdaughter; one stepson; two grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; her parents; two brothers; a stepsister; three stepbrothers; aunts and uncles.
She was preceded in death by her father, James P. Ruff.
