Carleen Louise Phillips Ray, 83, died June 20, 2008, at Baptist Hospital in Collierville, Tenn., after a sudden illness. She was born Feb. 6, 1925, in Monroe County to Nathaniel Carlton and Earline Wells Phillips. She lived in the Amory area for 80 years before moving to Piperton three years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She married L.H. Ray in 1946.
Graveside services were at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery with E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one daughter, Linda Ray Bailey of Piperton, Tenn.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.H. Ray, on June 10, 2008; and her parents.
