Bennie Earl Pate, 62, died June 29, 2008, at his home in Aberdeen. He was born March 13, 1946, to Paul Evan Pate and Annie Raney Pate in Aberdeen. He was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen and a 1964 graduate of Aberdeen High School. He was a retired truck driver for the Carpenter Company.
Services were at the Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen with burial in Thompson Cemetery.
Survivors included his wife, Lela Ann Swindle Pate of Aberdeen; two daughters; one son,; three sisters, Bonnie Shackelford (Joe) of Hatley, Mary Elizabeth Eads (Chet) of Collinsville, Mo., and Pearl Bogelsang (Gus) of St. Peters, Mo.; three brothers, Paul Pate (Mitzi) of Tupelo, David Pate of Fenton, Mo., and Walt Pate of Amory; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Betty Lou Cook; and four brothers, James, Horace, Jim and Carl Pate.
