Merial Gray Preston, 93, died Friday, July 11, 2008, at the Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born on Feb. 5, 1915, to James Alfred Gray and Maggie Baird Gray Lawrence in Aberdeen. She was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen, where she was a member of First United Methodist Church. She graduated from Aberdeen High School, where she was Miss AHS and attended a business school in Memphis, Tenn. She retired as a teller from Monroe Banking and Trust Company. She loved her family and church. She was known for her love of pets and her zest for life.
Services were at First United Methodist Church of Aberdeen with burial at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen wasin charge.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Arthur "Alex" Alexander Preston III; three brothers, Walton Greene Gray, Frank Marshall Gray and William Gray.
