NEW HOPE CEMETERY TRANSCRIPTION COMPLETE

by Terry Thornton
email: hillcountrymonroecounty@gmail.com

All of the five sections of New Hope Cemetery, Parham, Monroe County, Mississippi, have been inventoried, transcribed, and a working draft of each section posted online. A separate blog, New Hope Cemetery, is devoted to this specific cemetery, one of the historic burial grounds of the Hill Country. Approximately 1,800 burials at New Hope were transcribed and listed.

The individual sections are posted at these links:
Map and directions for using the information
Burials in Section A, the oldest part of the burial ground; both white and black individuals are buried in this historic section of the cemetery.
Burials in Section B.
Burials in Section C.
Burials in Section D.
Burials in Section E.

If you find errors, please contact me and I'll make corrections. If you need a copy of a photograph of the grave marker, please let me know the name and the jpeg number you need and I'll send it along. Eventually a master list of burials at New Hope Cemetery and the photographs of those grave markers will be posted online. Until then, all of the burials at New Hope from this inventory are listed alphabetized by section at the links above.
