Alma R. Thompson, 92, died May 8, 2009, at the Riverplace Nursing Center in Amory. She was born July 20, 1916, in Lamar County, Ala., to John H. and Lona Odell Harris Ray. She married Elmer Murry Thompson in 1934; he died in 2007. She was Baptist and a homemaker and enjoyed baby sitting. She loved her flowers and spending time with her family and friends.
Services were at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Smithville with burial in the Young Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; three brothers, John Paul, Willie and Dennis “Dink” Ray; and a nephew, John Paul Ray Jr.
