Doris Haney Tate, 59, died May 10, 2009, at her home. She was born May 6, 1950, in Monroe County to James D. and Mavis Miller Haney. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, she married Jimmy D. Tate in 1967. She was a homemaker and a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church. She enjoyed being with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren, reading, cooking, flower gardening, fishing and her dog, “BB.”
Services were at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with burial in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Jimmy D. Tate of Aberdeen; two sons, Dwight Tate (Robin) of Hamilton and Chris Tate of Aberdeen; one brother, Eugene Haney of Amory; one sister, Judy Spencer (Keith) of Fulton; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; father- and mother-in-law, James Coley and Flora Tate; brother-in-law, James R. Tate; and sister-in-law, Bobbye Haney.
