Sulue Baker, 99, died May 17, 2009, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. She was a lifetime member of New Prospect M.B. Church in Nettleton, a member of the choir and a missionary. She completed high school in Okolona and two years of Okolona Junior College (Industrial). She was a homemaker, and a member of the Senior Citizens and Sewing Club at the West Amory Community Center.
Services were at New Prospect M.B. Church in Nettleton with burial in the New Prospect Cemetery. Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included one son, Bobby Baker of Amory; four daughters, Rena Mae Strong of Chattanooga, Tenn., Lorene McIntosh and Jewel Haynes-Jamieson of Kansas City, Mo., and Flora White of Lambert; 28 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Baker; her father, Robert Gladney; her mother, Mary Adams Baker; one brother, Thomas Gladney; and four sisters, Clara Griffin, Susie Berry, Lucille Bradford and Atleaner Gilleylen.
