Thank You for your Reply.Unfornutley I will not be going to
Abeardean, Mississippi until July,2010.I l learned of this slave revolt from a defunct Monroe County website that no longer exists. I asked a second cousin of mine Marvin Blanchard who died several years ago about what i had learned and he said that he had been told that there was a slave rebellion on a plantation owned by a man named Blanchard, and according to what had been told and retold in the familiy the Plantation owner and several oveerseers had died in the Slave revolt. Also, the revolt had spread to several nearby plantations.Mr. Blanchard died several years ago but would be in his mid to late 80`s if he were still living. I belive Mr. Blanchard`s grandfather witness the slave revolt personally and was about 8-12 years old when the revolt happend. Also, i found some old estate papers in the basemetof the Chancery Buliding and i found that 3 men with Blanchard Name died in the summer of 1863!All were slave and plantation owners. In fact after the men died the plantations were diveded up and land and slaves sold off as if something tragic had happend to these men.
