Ida Mae Wright Gray, 76, died June 1, 2009, at her home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 6, 1932, in Monroe County to William Gaines and Due Drop Sheffield Wright. She was a lifelong resident of Nettleton. She was a former seamstress at Reed’s Manufacturing in Nettleton and a Pentecostal. She enjoyed quilting, working in her garden and being with her family.
Services were at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton withburial in Jones Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors included two daughters, Kathy Alvis (Robert) of Nettleton and Ramona Laney (Jackey) of the Peaceful Valley community; two sons, Dickie Gray (Glenda) of Plantersville and Clodell Gray (Wanda) of Aberdeen; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Lee Gray; one son, Eddie Wayne Gray; one brother, Jim Allen Wright; and one grandson, Andrew Laney.
