Katie Ruth Murff Scott, 89, died June 5, 2009, at the Care Center of Aberdeen. She was born March 12, 1920, to Ernest Murff and Kate Farrar Murff in Monroe County. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County, where she was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Methodist Church.
There were no services. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen assisted the family.
Survivors included one daughter, Betty Scott Olley (Bruce) of Aberdeen; two grandchildren, Krista Olley Blankensopp and Kevin Scott Olley; one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents;j two sisters, Tula Webb and Nell Smithson; and one brother, Connell Murff.
