Ray Thomas Moore Jr., 72, died June 14, 2009. He was born Jan. 14, 1937, to Fannie Moore and Ray Thomas Moore Jr. He was a 1957 graduate of Vine Street High School. He lived 38 years in Chicago and was employed at Hanover House. He was a member of New Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He married Catherine Bowens on Nov. 2, 1965.
Services were at New Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Jackson Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors included his wife of 44 years, Catherine Moore; two sons, Kenneth Bowens and Gerald Moore; one daughter, Tanya Moore; his mother, Fannie Moore; two brothers, Ralph Moore (Bertha) of Illinois and Donald Moore of Aberdeen; two sisters, Mary Moore-Cameron (Willie) of Aberdeen and Bettye Waters (James) of Jamaica; one aunt, Mattie Sue Moore of Aberdeen; seven grandchildren in Illinois; and a host of nieces and nephews.
