Suzanne, Thank you for the response. Our subject line is misleading, because now we're discussing the married daughter of John and Rebecca. Now, I have some idea how long Eliza (my gg-grandmother)lived, since I have no death date for her. I wondered if she went to Waco, TX, with Etta (grandma) and Charlotte (g-grandmother). By 1920, Charlotte lived alone in Waco. Reice Flowers was my 2nd cousin twice removed. Ann Eliza Ingram's husband, John Flowers, has b.&d. dates different from what you wrote. He was born in Anson County, NC, Oct. 5, 1813, and died aboard ship returning from Honduras on March 17, 1869. He is buried in Flowers Cemetery in Kilmichael, MS. I'd like to know if his body was actually brought home. I have compiled lots of biographical information about Samuel Reice Flowers and his family, taken from "History of Montgomery County, Mississippi", available through any Interlibrary Loan process. I have photocopies of pages pertaining to Flowers. If your Nettie Duke lived with Eliza, I would very much like to know all about it. In return, by email attachment, I can send to you the descendant chart I've constructed from the common ancestor, John Erasmus Flowers (1777-1871), as well as several transcribed pieces about the two Johns and William (Reice's grandfather). It is apparent to me that the "Letters to Nettie" contain vital information about my family that we have been searching for. All we have is an oral report from Etta to my 1st cousin once removed, Menta, dated from the 1950's. I didn't engage Grandma Etta in that sort of conversation when she lived with me and my parents, and of course now I wish I'd shown some interest. But, it was generally a forbidden subject in my home, which is why I'm tracking it all down now. On his deathbed in 1978, my father told me about the marriage of Charlotte Rebecca Flowers, daughter of John and Eliza. I've built all my research on one sentence he said. Please write to me directly: joychi@quixnet.net. Thank you, and happy hunting! Joy Notify Administrator about this message?
