Beverley,
I located William Mann on the 1860 census in Carroll Co. MS.
MANN WILLIAM 32 M W TN MS CARROLL MIDDLETON 1860
1860 > MISSISSIPPI > CARROLL > MIDDLETON

Series: M653 Roll: 578 Page: 856

The town of Middleton is no longer there because when the railroad came through a few miles to the east.A new town was born, that was Winona, MS.
Willam is listed as being single living in the household of Ann Heiliff (sp ?) age 58 also a Elzabeth Holmes age 7 lives there
I could not find hi on the 1850 Census nor any marrage records.
Wayne
