Daniel Bates is the father of Green Booth Bates, b. 1 Sep 1866, died 11 May 1948, buried in Golden Grove Cemetery, Neshoba County, Mississippi. Green Bates married Matilda J. Miller, daughter of Frances Amanda Atwood and Henry Frederick Miller. I am descended from Matilda's half-sister, Sarah Amanda Jackson. (Frances Atwood was married previous to Andrew Jackson who died in the Civil War. They had two children.)
I have recorded the following children for Green & Matilda Bates:
1. Melva Bates, b. about 1894
2. Luda Green Bates, b. 9 Dec 1897, d. 15 Jan. 1966, buried Golden Grove Cemetery
3. Adam Byrd Bates, 27 Sep 1899 (or 27 Sep 1898), d. 27 Jul 1962, buried Golden Grove Cemetery
4. Pearl A. Bates, b. abt 1903
5. Oscar Bates, b. abt 1906
6. Tony (Antonia) Bates (this is a male), b. about 1908
7. Ellis Reid Bates, 20 Sep 1912, d. 23 Mar. 1946, buried Golden Grove Cemetery
Any information about the descendants of Green and Matilda would be greatly appreciated. Oscar may have lived in Jackson, MS, and Tony in Kemper County, MS. I know Ellis was married, but don't have information on his wife.
